Middle School holds Spring Concert
On Monday, April 14, Falls City Middle School students performed in the annual Spring Concert. Six different groups sang or played during the musical event.
The concert started with the Sixth Grade Band. They played three songs: "Little Band Blues," "Latinique," and "I Forgot My Practice Report Blues."
Their performance was followed by the students who were chosen to be part of the Sing Around Nebraska. Those participants sang "Circle 'Round the Moon."
The Sixth Grade Chorus sang four songs. The first song, "A Great Big Sea," was accompanied by David von Behren on the fiddle and Josh Stoller on spoons. They also performed "The Glendy Burke," "Shades," and "Pirate's Life."
Playing their instruments next were the members of the Seventh and Eighth Grade Band. They played "Crosswinds March," "Drums of Darkness," "Flutopia," and "Thunderhead."
The Middle School Show Choir performed a medley of songs. They started with "Feelin' Alive." The boys of the show choir sang "Do You Love Me." The entire show choir sang "You're the One That I Want" and "It Never Rains in California," featuring the solo of Josh Stoller. The show choir girls then sang "Chapel of Love." David von Behren was a soloist in "Close to You." The show choir finished their performance with "You Are So Beautiful" and "Feelin' Alive (Reprise)."
The Seventh and Eighth Grade Chorus was the last group to perform. Their sang four songs: "Clap Your Hands," Wakati Wa Amani (A Time of Peace - Swahili)," Music Speaks" and "My Lord."
The directors of the program were Barb Hinrichs and John Svoboda. The accompanist was Kathy Hopp. |
