Show Choir wins UNO Festival

With the first place plaque at the UNO Show Choir Festival, members of the Applederas Show Choir are, first row–Jacob Babb and Tanner Merz; second row–Aimee Hillyard, Lexi Lampe, and Rachel Stevens; third row–Gillian Rolfe, Jayna Habben, Danelle Johnson, Cortney Cooper, Hannah Thompson, Kari Kreifels, and Madison Winslow; fourth row–Laura Stevens, Cody Strauch, Samantha Lampe, Justin Coonce, Britney Warren, Amy Dunn, and Allison Joy; fifth row–Lane Merz, Ethan Fritz, Zach Ernst, Meshach Casey, Clint Bartek, Tim von Behren, Lucas Auffert, Dan Hagedorn, Rodney Mount, Zech Bragg, Jack Munford, and Drew Wiltse.

The Applederas Show Choir won first place in Class B/C/D at the UNO Show Choir Festival. The competition was held at UNO on Wednesday, February 13.

Commenting on the win, Music Director Alisha Sutton said, "I am very pleased with the students' performance. They worked together and decided they really wanted to win." She added, "We have only received first place one other time in 2003. These students have never won first at UNO so that was exciting to see them achieve that goal."

The show choir will compete again on Saturday, February 23. They will attend the Millard West "Singsation" competition and compete in the Class A/B category. The Applederas group will perform at 5:30 P.M.
